An Open Secret | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Sheri Linden Los Angeles Times Clunky elements aside, the film's distillation of firsthand testimony and archival material has haunting implications. Jul 16, 2015 Full Review An Open Secret | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Joe Neumaier New York Daily News This disturbing but important documentary about a shadow world inside of Hollywood confronts tough issues with bravery and information. Rated: 3/5 Jun 12, 2015 Full Review An Open Secret | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Ken Jaworowski New York Times You may miss a few moments of "An Open Secret," either while looking away during its unsettling stories or closing your eyes in frustration. This potent documentary elicits those kinds of reactions. Jun 11, 2015 Full Review An Open Secret | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Ren Jender Bitch Flicks Maybe because I've seen carefully crafted documentaries recently like (T)ERROR and Out in the Night, I was frustrated at the muddle An Open Secret makes of its overlapping stories. Mar 8, 2019 Full Review An Open Secret | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Megan Basham WORLD But as we've seen in recent months, titans can fall. Now is a perfect time to return attention to this searing documentary. Feb 1, 2018 Full Review An Open Secret | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Mark Abraham Paste Magazine If you aren't familiar with any of the stories Berg presents, I suspect you'll find the material covered in An Open Secret horrific and shocking. If you are familiar, you'll still find it horrific and shocking. Rated: 7.5/10 Jun 18, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

kevin c Documentary that turns the spotlight on the sexual abuse of child actors by agents and people of power in the entertainment industry. Very disturbing first hand accounts by some of the former child stars that were abused as well as interviews with people in the business. Completely riveting and heartbreaking that this takes place so routinely with people turning a blind eye to what's going on. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This was kind of ahead of it's time, wasn't it? Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member An amazing movie that deserves more attention than it received. The courage of the young men who chose to tell the stories of their abuse is inspiring. The film is tastefully done, though the subject matter is depressing. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member After much research I really do not think that this movie is very credible. They neglect to mention so many other shady characters. I feel that this documentary is an unnecessary hit piece used to distract the public from other more protected members of the industry. Also the one producer has a hedge fun run out of Kushner Tower at 666 5th Ave in Manhattan. That alone shows enough. No more coincidences. An Open Secret is laughing at you all and mocking you. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Sensationalized, inaccurate documentary that features sloppy editing, ham handed delivery and overly corny and sentimental music. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Joosar B At first glance, I enjoyed this slow moving documentary, very important subject. While it was on, I did a bit of research on it, and found some troubling information. Turns out the Producer has been doing a lot of discrediting of people sexually abused, and will block you on twitter if you ask him something he doesn't like(I asked him why he thought a survivor was lying, turns out there's a lot of tweets with screenshots of similar experiences). Turns out he had some survivors on his documentary sign contracts to keep them quiet on certain topics to other outlets? Producer is worth over 200m, so i understand why this documentary looked appealing, and why its being shilled out there, but do yourself a favor, research this stuff online instead of watching this. 15 minutes of reading would cover all the information offered here.
