The Burston Prime Incarnon Genesis is perhaps my favourite of all the Incarnon Geneses released so far. The Incarnon transformation takes this somewhat middling burst rifle and turns it into a fully automatic bullet hose with 600 rounds that deals Heat Damage with a small 2m blast radius (albeit with 100% damage falloff).

When transformed into it's Incarnon Form, the weapon gets the following:

  • +10% boost to base Crititcal Chance, taking it to 28%
  • +1.2x boost to Critical Multiplier, taking it to 3.0x
  • Fire Rate jumps to 20.00 from 9.38

The Incarnon form is charged by getting headshots with this weapon, and the Incarnon mode can be activated at any level of charge, though the lesser the charge, the fewer the number of rounds available in Incarnon Form.

Evolutions

In terms of Evolutions, my personal preferences are Fortress Salvo, Ready Retaliation/Kinetic Battle and Absolute Valor

Evo 2 - Fortress Salvo - Whilst both evos give +42 base damage, the additional 2m punch through when your frame has over 450 armor works in both normal and Incarnon forms. +5 multishot on the final burst is situational at best, and whilst it might help give you that last few bits of charge needed to max out your Incarnon charge bar, it only applies to the non-Incarnon form.

Evo 3 - Ready Retaliation/Kinetic Battle - This tier has 2 choices of note, Ready Retaliation and Kinetic Battle. Extended Volley works in normal mode only, and frankly an additional 21 rounds (7 bursts) isn't anything to write home about, give that one a pass.

  • Why go for Ready Retaliation? Though the description says that the reload speed buff only works on an empty magazine, either DE got the description wrong, or we have a bug that works in our favour here, because as of the time of writing that +100% reload speed is ALWAYS active. It's worth noting that reload speed doesn't just affect the normal reload of the weapon, it also affects the speed at which the weapon transforms into Incarnon Mode, and we want to be in Incarnon as much as possible with this weapon, so, win-win. I fully expect this to be fixed at some point, so if/when it does get fixed, this will be a safe skip.

  • Why go for Kinetic Battle? Whilst this weapon doesn't have a recoil pattern that is all that terrible, it is noticeable, particularly in full auto Incarnon mode, and this weapon wants headshots in both forms, so why not make getting headshots that bit easier? Twin this with a max rank Primary Deadhead (which though not listed on this site, grants -50% recoil as well) and you have yourself a weapon with ZERO recoil.

Evo 4 - Absolute Valor - There's really only one choice here, and it's Absolute Valor, +22% base critical chance, taking this weapon from +28% critical chance, to 50%. Paired with Point Strike or Critical Delay it boosts our critical chance to 125% with the former and 150% with the latter when transformed into Incarnon mode, guaranteeing at least a yellow critical on every hit. If it's [Point Strike] you use, with a Galvanized Scope at max stacks, and you will find yourself with a massive 285% critical chance, nearly permanent red criticals. [Critical Delay] with [Galvanized Scope] at max stacks would result in 310% critical chance, meaning you will permanently get red criticals.

Reaver's Rapture only applies to the normal mode as transformation counts as a "reload", hard pass, it's also currently bugged, double hard pass. Fatal Afflcition is a poor man's Galvanized Aptitude and you're not going to be priming targets with a secondary to use the Burston, pass.

Modding

In terms of modding, you will want to run a Heat/Viral build - whether you bias this more towards Heat or towards Viral is a matter of personal preference, I'm going for a Heat bias here.

Our first three mods are all about upping our critical chance and our critical multiplier, I go for Galvanized Scope, Vital Sense and Point Strike. Why not Critical Delay instead of [Point Strike]? Personal preference at play here, whilst that would up the Critical Chance to 310% at maximum stacks of [Galvanized Scope], meaning permanent red crits, I don't enjoy the 20% fire rate reduction in Incarnon mode. If you choose to go for [Critical Delay] here, apply a Dash Forma in the appropriate slot

Next up, Galvanized Chamber - more multishot is never a bad thing.

The 5th slot is a "your preference here" slot, I normally go for [Bladed Rounds] for that extra critical multiplier, but [Hunter Munitions] is also a good shout if you want more "death by a thousand cuts" rather than "death by gigantic critical hits".

Now for the elemental modding, we want Viral and Heat, and in this instance a bias towards heat, so I have gone for Malignant Force, Rime Rounds and Hellfire. If you want to shift the bias towards Viral, you can swap out [Malignant Force] or [Hellfire] for Infected Clip instead, if you swap out the former, you'll need to shift the forma'd slot over to the left. If you want to use Thermite Rounds instead, you won't need that 4th forma.

I have unlocked the exilus slot in my build and because I'm using Ready Retaliation for faster reloads (due to it's good bugged state), I use Stabilizer here for that lower recoil.

In the Weapon Arcane slot, it's Primary Deadhead, at max rank, it's -50% recoil results in ZERO recoil when combined with either [Stabilizer] or Kinteic Battle, making hitting those important headshots incredibly easy.
